Manager, Financial Reporting
Job Summary
The position is responsible for the preparation of financial statement, footnote support and XBRL reporting for quarterly and annual SEC filings, as well as preparation/review of month-end analysis and reports submitted to executive management and the Board of Directors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Primary contact person for month-end reporting from the subsidiaries
  • Responsible for the analysis and verification of monthly close process and consolidation
  • Prepare month-end/quarter-end P&L analysis by subsidiary, focus on SG&A expense (actual to actual and actual to budget/forecast variances)
  • Balance sheet analysis by subsidiary
  • Prepare financial statements, including Cash Flow and Earnings per Share, for internal and external reporting (including the Retirement Plan financial statements and tax returns)
  • Coordinate and interact with external auditors/trustee regarding benefit plans and external reporting
  • Responsible for stand-alone financial statement preparation of selected subsidiaries
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly/annual SEC reporting, including footnote support and XBRL reporting
  • Assist with budget/forecast consolidation and reporting for all subsidiaries
  • Responsible for reviewing and filing all U.S. Government census forms and unclaimed property forms
  • Special projects as assigned, including possible technical accounting research (SEC and U.S. GAAP compliance)
  • Evaluate processes and identify improvements
  • Manage up to two professionals, as needed, including appropriate career development and timely review process 
  • B.S./B.A required (degree in Accounting preferred)
  • CPA preferred
  • Three to four years public company reporting experience or similar experience while working for a public accounting firm is required
  • Experience with Hyperion products preferred
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, consolidations and month-end closing procedures required
  • Experience with preparation and review of 10-K and 10-Q filings
  • Experience with XBRL filing process preferred
  • Solid U.S. GAAP understanding
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve financial issues
  • Strong analytical skills with respect to identifying trends, problems areas and opportunities
